Our Youth and Family programs begin in 2012 to support refugee and immigrant youth and their families to improve academic performance, build social skills, foster leadership, and equip parents with tools for happy families. The three core evidence-based programs that make up our youth and family program are afterschool programming, 1:1 Youth Mentoring and a parenting program called Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP).
Today we have afterschool programs in following schools in the Granite School District and at our Sunnyvale Community Center

Abdullah enrolled in our afterschool program at Evergreen Jr. High. He had shown little interest in school and was failing most of his classes. After attending the program regularly, his grades and behavior showed steady improvement and he is no longer failing any classes! Instructors describe him now as “kinder, patient, and calmer.”
