Our community is a unique intersection of two groups: Asian Americans in Utah, representing our heritage community, and marginalized refugees, asylum seekers, and human trafficking victims, representing the community we serve.
History
It began over 45 years ago when the Asian community in Salt Lake City responded to a special request from the then Governor of Utah to help resettle Vietnamese refugees stuck in Camp Pendleton at the end of the Vietnam War. Since then, we have assisted tens of thousands of refugees, asylees, and human trafficking survivors from over 100 countries. Our Board of Directors is comprised of local Asian community and business leaders from Salt Lake City who are giving back to help other new arrivals to Utah thrive.
