Overview

Our Refugee Services team at Asian Association of Utah assists individuals and families achieve outcomes of substantive improvement, self-sufficiency, and thriving. Our linguistically sensitive and trauma-informed service is delivered by specialized staff who journey with each individual and family as they transition to life in Utah. Our specialized teams will work to ensure our clients are connected to all appropriate services through a holistic approach to services.

When an Afghan Special Immigrant Visa holder arrived in Utah in July 2024 with his wife and six children, all under eighteen, their path to stability seemed uncertain. Today, this family embodies resilience and determination with support from AAU's Refugee Services.

AAU announced the launch of its "Invest to Impact: Investing Today for Thriving Tomorrow" end-of-year giving campaign. The initiative seeks community support to sustain and expand critical services as demand reaches unprecedented levels while resources for refugees and human trafficking victims are being reduced.

After 25 years of extraordinary service, Sheri Bodily is retiring from the Asian Association of Utah (AAU), leaving behind a powerful legacy of compassion, leadership, and life-changing impact. As a dedicated English Language Learning (ELL) instructor and the longtime leader of the Adult ELL team, Sheri has helped thousands of refugees and immigrants build new lives through the power of language and education.
