Overview

Our Behavioral Health services provide counseling and support services for refugees, immigrants, and other community members through affordable, trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive outpatient services. Our program allows individuals and families to build on their strengths and become integrated members of our local community.

New Mental Health Initiative for Afghan Community Members in Utah

The Asian Association of Utah has announced an exciting new support group program specifically designed for the Afghan community. This six-week series focuses on mental health while building stronger community connections among both male and female Afghan groups.

Meeting every Friday evening from 6-8pm between October 18th and November 22nd at the Sunnyvale Neighborhood Center (585 W 3900 S #2), the program offers a comprehensive curriculum covering essential topics including mental health, cultural differences, and self-care strategies.

The program is fully accessible by providing childcare, interpreting services, and refreshments.
