We're starting 2025 with exciting news and remarkable achievements in our Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (S.T.E.P.) program! The class teaches modern child-rearing techniques to Utah's refugee communities in an individually tailored, culturally-sensitive and success oriented setting. Parents will learn how to foster a better relationship with their children through effective communication despite generational and language barriers. Each participant will receive $50 and a Certificate of Completion.
Our Spanish and Somali parenting classes concluded 2024 with outstanding success with a graduation class of 64 participants.
Upcoming Classes
For 2025, we have three classes enrolling currently in three different languages - Kinyarwanda, Arabic and Sudanese Dinka:
- Kinyarwanda: January 24, 2025
- Arabic: February 1, 2025
- Sudanese Dinka: February 15, 2025
Looking ahead, we're also planning classes to be offered in Swahili (March 2025) and Afghan (April 2025).
