At the beginning, [Carol] demonstrated strong ambition and big dreams but lacked clear direction. Passionate about coding and technology, she had developed skills through self-study, but the absence of formal education and professional experience created significant barriers to employment.
With support from our team, she developed a structured career plan including completing her GED and enrolling in an accredited coding course. After a year and a half in the program, she has successfully earned her GED, is currently enrolled in a coding course, and has secured part-time employment at her school.
Every survivor in the Economic Empowerment Services program brings unique ambitions and aspirations. With targeted guidance and consistent support, these goals can be transformed into meaningful and attainable outcomes.
Our Human Trafficking Support Economic Empowerment Services help survivors move beyond survival to build self-sufficiency and create sustainable futures free from exploitation. This year, we delivered 1,551 services, empowering trafficking survivors to build financial stability and independence. New employer partnerships, including Sears Home Improvement, expanded job opportunities for survivors. This holistic approach equips individuals with the financial knowledge, employment skills, and life skills necessary for sustainable self-sufficiency.
Community members interested in supporting our mission can make tax-deductible donations through aau-slc.org/donate. To maximize your impact, an anonymous donor has extended the match of every gift up to $10,000 from now through December 31st, doubling your impact to support refugees, refugee youth, and human trafficking survivors. Donate today to double your impact.
