We are pleased to announce that AAU has added three outstanding members of our community to our Board of Directors—Chris Chong, James Sroykum, and Arlene Dzurnak.
Chris Chong is a licensed attorney in Utah, California, and Texas and becomes our General Counsel. He is active in the Korean American Chamber of Commerce Utah and is a Board Member of the Korean American Chamber of Commerce USA. Chris likes to use his experience and knowledge of law to help the underserved and to do some good for those in disadvantaged situations. He is looking forward to learning more about AAU and the outstanding work we do with refugees, refugee youth, and human trafficking victims.
James Sroykum is a professional Treasury Director with more than 18 years of experience in Banking/Treasury/Finance, technology, and payment products. As the Associate Treasury Director of Optum Bank, James develops and executes treasury solution strategies associated with deposit products, cash management services, and payment services offered by the bank. Originally born in Thailand, James immigrated to Utah during high school and studied Economics and Information Technology at the University of Utah. One fun fact: James is a certified 7th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor of the United States Taekwon-Do Federation.
Arlene Dzurnak brings over 30 years of experience in banking, financial services, regulatory compliance, audit, and risk management to our Board of Directors. Currently, she serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for First Electronic Bank in Salt Lake City and is a member of their executive team, advising on strategic initiatives for the bank. She earned her BS in Accounting and MBA from City University in Seattle, Washington. Arlene is most excited about helping AAU continue to grow, improve upon our internal controls and processes, and further give back to the Asian community.
We warmly welcome James, Arlene, and Chris to our Board of Directors!
