Dr. Shu Cheng is the one of the founders of the Asian Association of Utah, and has been its Executive Director since 1977. For over 39 years, Shu has led the organization to provide evidence-based programming for refugees and immigrants. Because of his leadership in the community, Shu has received numerous awards, including the Senator Pete Suazo Social Justice Award. His inspiration comes from his commitment to help to improve lives for individuals, families and communities. Shu has a BA from Weber State University and an MS and PhD in Social Work from the University of Utah.
He advises that an effective method of reducing stress and getting fresh ideas is to hand wash a sinkful of dishes.
