Lina has worked in refugee services for over 20 years, and has been with the Refugee & Immigrant Center since 2000. Prior to her time at RIC-AAU, she served as Resettlement & Immigrant Administrative Director at Catholic Community Services of Utah. Lina oversees programs ranging from ESL to Employment to Services for Victims of Trafficking. She is a member of the State Refugee Services Board, State Refugee Service Providers Network, and the OptumHealth Cultural Competency Advisory Committee. Lina’s dedication has been recognized at a national level; under her leadership at Catholic Community Services, the Diocese of Salt Lake City received the first ever Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award. Lina holds a BA in Sociology, and BA in Psychology, and a Certificate in Criminology from the University of Utah.
In her non-work time, Lina loves to read—especially historical books and murder mysteries. A lifelong dream of hers is to go on an archeological dig.
